Whether its the food, architecture, or atmosphere, every part of the experience at Polka Restaurant was purposefully designed to make our guests feel like they are visiting Poland. Founders Marek and Danuta Kolynicz believed that preserving these bits of traditional Polish culture was critical in the inception of Polka Restaurant.
Regular trips to Poland are what inspired owner Marek Kolynicz's vision on Polka's execution of their authentic yet contemporary cuisine. Kolynicz describes present-day Warsaw as "an energetic food city" where the food culture is growing rapidly, just like here in metro Detroit. Marek's fusion of traditional décor and atmosphere with modern flavors renders a memorable dining experience for all, regardless if you are familiar with traditional Polish cuisine or not.
After being seated at our light oak tables that were directly imported from Poland, you'll immediately notice the floor to ceiling murals painted throughout the entire restaurant, painted by Polish artist Andrew Sikora. In addition, the floral murals give our patrons a snapshot of Zalipie, Poland, a small ancient village in Southeastern Poland which is known for their painted villages.
